She holds a PhD in Industrial and Business Studies from Warwick Business School, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>Her research lies at the intersection of Operational Research and Data Science, with a strong focus on the development of frontier-based models for efficiency and productivity analysis. She has authored more than 100 publications in leading international journals and serves as Associate Editor of the <em>Journal of Productivity Analysis<\/em>, <em>Sustainability Analytics and Modeling<\/em>, and <em>RAIRO \u2013 Operations Research<\/em>.<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>Ana Camanho has previously served as Vice-President of the Portuguese Operational Research Society (APDIO) and currently coordinates the Data Science area of the MIT Portugal Program. She has participated in numerous research projects across education, health, energy, and sustainable development, and was awarded the FEUP Teaching Excellence Award in 2021.<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n                \n                <!-- Speaker 2: Carla Henriques -->\n                <div class=\"ws-speaker\">\n                    <h3 class=\"ws-speaker-name\">Carla Margarida Saraiva de Oliveira Henriques<\/h3>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-title\">\n                        Director of the Applied Research Institute, Polytechnic University of Coimbra\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-bio\">\n                        <p>Carla Henriques is the Director of the Applied Research Institute at the Polytechnic University of Coimbra. She holds a BSc in Economics, an MSc in Information Management in Organizations, and two doctoral degrees: a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Coimbra and a PhD in Economics and Business from the University of M\u00e1laga.<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>Her research focuses on the development of mathematical models, with particular emphasis on multiobjective linear programming. A central aspect of her work is the explicit treatment of uncertainty, applying interval mathematical programming techniques to improve the robustness and reliability of policy-support models. More recently, she has expanded her research to efficiency and performance assessment using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), including methods that incorporate uncertainty and imprecise data.<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>She is a faculty member of the Energy for Sustainability Initiative at the University of Coimbra and an integrated researcher at INESC Coimbra.<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n                \n                <!-- Speaker 3: Giovanna D'Inverno -->\n                <div class=\"ws-speaker\">\n                    <h3 class=\"ws-speaker-name\">Giovanna D&#8217;Inverno<\/h3>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-title\">\n                        Associate Professor of Mathematical Methods for Economics, Actuarial Science and Finance<br>\n                        University of Pisa, Italy\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-bio\">\n                        <p>Giovanna D&#8217;Inverno is Associate Professor of Mathematical Methods for Economics, Actuarial Science and Finance at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Pisa, Italy. She is also a Research Associate at the Leuven Economics of Education Research (LEER) Centre, KU Leuven, Belgium.<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>She obtained a joint PhD degree in 2018 from IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca (Italy) and KU Leuven (Belgium), and subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at KU Leuven within the LEER Centre. She has published extensively in top-ranked international journals.<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>Her research focuses on the development of quantitative methods and policy evaluation techniques aimed at integrating efficiency and effectiveness analysis within a comprehensive economic framework. Her empirical work mainly addresses public economics and sustainability challenges, with particular attention to local government expenditure, education, and water and waste management. She is actively involved in several national and international research projects, including collaborations with consultancy firms and policy makers.<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n                \n                <!-- Speaker 4: Hermilio Vilarinho -->\n                <div class=\"ws-speaker\">\n                    <h3 class=\"ws-speaker-name\">Hermilio Vilarinho<\/h3>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-title\">\n                        Researcher at INEGI &#038; Invited Assistant Professor<br>\n                        Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-bio\">\n                        <p>Hermilio Vilarinho is a researcher at INEGI and an invited assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, with international professional experience in Brazil, the United States, Angola, and Japan. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from FEUP, where his research focused on decision models for the water sector using optimization and frontier methods.<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>With more than three decades of industry experience, he has worked in quality management, project management, product development, and continuous improvement. His research expertise includes efficiency analysis, regulatory benchmarking, performance modelling, and Lean Six Sigma, and he has published several articles in international scientific journals.<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>He also holds professional certifications including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems, and Project Management Professional (PMP).<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n                \n                <!-- Speaker 5: Lu\u00eds Miguel Marques -->\n                <div class=\"ws-speaker\">\n                    <h3 class=\"ws-speaker-name\">Lu\u00eds Miguel Soares Santos Marques<\/h3>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-title\">\n                        Assistant Professor of Economics<br>\n                        University of Beira Interior, Portugal\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-bio\">\n                        <p>Lu\u00eds Miguel Marques is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal, and a researcher at the Research Centre in Business Sciences (NECE-UBI).<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>His main research interests are macroeconomics and financial economics. His work has been published in internationally recognised journals, including <em>Economic Modelling<\/em> and <em>Applied Economics<\/em>.<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n                \n                <!-- Speaker 6: Maria do Castelo Gouveia -->\n                <div class=\"ws-speaker\">\n                    <h3 class=\"ws-speaker-name\">Maria do Castelo Gouveia<\/h3>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-title\">\n                        Associate Professor<br>\n                        Coimbra Business School | ISCAC, Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra\n                    <\/div>\n                    <div class=\"ws-speaker-bio\">\n                        <p>Maria do Castelo Gouveia is Associate Professor at Coimbra Business School | ISCAC, Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, where she has been teaching courses on Mathematics, Informatics, and Operations Research. Maria is a researcher at INESC Coimbra and a collaborator at Business and Economics Research at U. Coimbra (CeBER).<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>She is graduated in Mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra (1997). She has a M.Sc. degree in Information Management in Organizations from the Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra (2002) and a PhD in Business Management, from the Faculty of Economics, University of Coimbra (2012).<\/p>\n                        \n                        <p>The main research area is Operational Research and Data Science, with emphasis on the development of models for evaluating efficiency and productivity evolution using the Data Envelopment Analysis Technique. She is Member of the Representative Council and Scientific Council of Coimbra Business School | ISCAC.
